In a world that leans towards hype or exaggeration, it’s easy to ride over something or dismiss it as yet another baseless claim or one that is made for the sake of some alternative aim, such as to attract your business/money. Yet, this revelation below, if you are new to this, must stop you in your tracks and take time to digest.
Working robots are already playing a big part in the global economy, and their roles are both elevating and quickening. It is NOT an exaggeration to say that, at least potentially, they will have subsumed 90% + of all roles in the next 3-5 years. The technology is in place, the demand is clear (they are better and cheaper than human equivalents).
They will soon migrate from factories and warehouses into streets and homes. Indeed, even something as simple as a self-driving car in those limited areas of London, where allowed, are early signs of this.
Next, we will see humanoids, in shops and restaurants, and then in people’s homes.
Now – here is the extraordinary part and you need to do a bit of “mind work” to get to follow this.
Take 10,000 people doing this work currently – and then replace them with 10,000 humanoids.
The people have brains, the humanoids have chips.
BOTH work on a form of neural networking. BOTH are in a constant mode of learning.
But the similarities start to fall down at a crucial point – the 10,000 humans learn one at a time, and they individualise this learning; and then they forget something and then they die. That one brain is lost forever. That individual cannot upload that to the other 9,999 human brains.
The humanoid with its chip representing its brain? It also learns individually (through back propagation) and it uses its learning to improve, to correct and so on. That “information” CAN be transferred to the other 9,999 humanoids, and, of course, this works in reverse. The other 9,999 can share back to the one.
This difference between humans and humanoids is more than immense – it is unfathomable. It is unprecedented. It is truly astonishing.
The humanoids have “immortal brains”.
This is a component part of the intelligence explosion WHICH HAS RECENTLT DETONATED.
Now, many people think “Ah, but they will need resourcing, they will need lots of energy”. WRONG! They will need very little resource and hardly any energy.
This is a brutal myth doing the rounds. These brilliant cognitive creatures developing IQ of 100s – will need such little powering you won’t believe it.
Just think of this – they are developing “skin”, such that they are made out of solar absorbent “panels” such that they have unlimited battery life provided they can “solar” up for a short time each day. This intelligence will learn how to harness the sun’s energy to a level we can barely imagine.
Each day we continue to operate “as is” is a day we lose to react to this coming transformation to our lives and outer world; both individually and collectively we should be preparing at a speed which aims to ensure human players remain relevant. Most people are not preparing for anything new, let alone anything transformative.
